Designed to boost customer engagement and reorder rates, this intuitive loyalty portal allows users to earn points through purchases, Google reviews, referrals, and surveys. With clear tracking and simple point redemption, the system not only helps customers save but also drives repeat business-creating a win-win for both brand and buyer.
Designed to increase engagement and reorder rates, the CC Loyalty Program allows users to earn points through purchases, reviews, referrals, and surveys. I led the user experience research and design, focusing on a seamless, motivating rewards experience that benefits both users and the brand.
Many customers engage with our brand once but don’t return. Our goal was to create a lightweight, intuitive loyalty system that encourages:
1. Repeat orders
2. Positive brand interaction
3. Word-of-mouth growth
“How might we design a rewards system that’s not only easy to understand but also exciting enough to increase repeat purchases and brand advocacy?”
1. Conducted 5 user interviews with existing customers (age 25–45)
2. Discussed past experiences with loyalty programs
3. Identified motivators, pain points, and desired features
1. Users value simplicity-they often forget to use or understand points systems
2. Transparency is critical-“How many points do I have?” and “What can I get with them?”
3. Referrals and reviews are underused opportunities that users are open to if incentivized clearly
“I only use rewards if the process is clear and fast-no math.”
“If I know I’m close to a discount, I’m way more likely to reorder.”
“I’d leave a review, but no one tells me what I get in return.”
1. Mind-mapping to explore possible reward triggers and user flows
2. Competitor audit of brands like Starbucks, Nike, and Amazon
3. Task modeling to visualize user scenarios like:
* Earning points via purchases or reviews
* Checking points balance
* Redeeming points at checkout
1. Dashboard with live points tracker
2. Earn points for: purchases, reviews, referrals, surveys
3. One-click redemption at checkout
4. Notifications when rewards unlock
5. Points expiration reminders
The UI blends luxury branding with functional simplicity, in line with Cigar Conexion’s visual identity. It uses rich black and gold tones to reinforce a premium, reward-driven experience.
1. Loyalty Dashboard: Displays the user’s points total and available actions clearly. Primary CTA (“Add Points with Bill Number”) is emphasized.
2. Earn Extra Points: Clean button layout for high-engagement actions like Google Reviews, Referrals, and Surveys.
1. Serif typography for headlines enhances elegance, matching Cigar Conexion’s tone
2. Visual hierarchy separates functional tasks from bonus actions
3. Gold-toned buttons attract attention without overwhelming the interface
This UI was designed to be clear enough for new users, but motivating enough for repeat engagement, reinforcing a sense of reward and exclusivity.
Not conducted yet, as the project is currently in conceptual stage.
While still conceptual, the design aims to drive:
1. Higher reorder rates through strategic reminders
2. Increased engagement via Google reviews and surveys
3. Lower churn by reinforcing value from the first purchase
4. Organic growth from referral flows integrated with social platforms
Designing the CC Loyalty Program taught me the power of motivational UX. Rewards aren’t just about discounts-they’re psychological nudges that make users feel seen, valued, and connected to the brand.
Key takeaways:
* A well-structured loyalty system must feel like progress, not complexity
* Rewarding users for feedback and social sharing can create compounding growth
* Even in conceptual stages, research-driven design makes future handoff smoother for product teams
This project strengthened my ability to balance short-term incentives with long-term brand loyalty.
